Welcome to Sidekick Vet. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website at sidekick.vet and the veterinary teletriage services (collectively, the "Services") operated by PupPilot Corp ("Sidekick Vet," "we," "our," or "us").

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our Services. Please read these Terms carefully, including the sections on limitation of liability, dispute resolution, and arbitration.

1. About Our Services

What Sidekick Vet Does

Sidekick Vet is an on-demand veterinary teletriage platform that connects pet owners with licensed veterinary professionals for symptom assessment, urgency evaluation, and next-step guidance — including referral to your local veterinarian when appropriate. Consultations are conducted via video chat and text messaging.

How Our Service Works

Important: Sidekick Vet's veterinary teletriage services are provided through our service partner, The Pet Vet Connection, LLC ("Pet Vet Connection" or "PVC"). Pet Vet Connection operates the teletriage platform infrastructure and the licensed veterinary professionals who conduct your consultations are engaged through Pet Vet Connection. Sidekick Vet serves as the consumer-facing brand and customer relationship layer.

When you request a consultation through Sidekick Vet, you are connected with a licensed veterinary professional through Pet Vet Connection's platform. The veterinary professional assesses your pet's symptoms, evaluates urgency, and provides next-step guidance — which may include recommending a visit to your local veterinarian or emergency clinic. Sidekick Vet does not practice veterinary medicine, does not employ the consulting veterinary professionals, and does not direct or control their professional judgment.

Teletriage — What We Do

Sidekick Vet provides veterinary teletriage only, available in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. During a teletriage consultation, a licensed veterinary professional will:

  • Assess your pet's symptoms based on the information you provide
  • Help you determine the urgency of the situation (emergency, urgent, or non-urgent)
  • Advise whether your pet needs immediate emergency care, a scheduled veterinary visit, or can be monitored at home
  • Provide general wellness guidance and educational information
  • Refer you to your local veterinarian for diagnosis, treatment, or prescriptions when needed

What Sidekick Vet Does Not Do

Sidekick Vet is not a telemedicine service. We do not provide veterinary diagnoses, specific treatment plans, or prescriptions. Our service is designed to help you understand the urgency of your pet's situation and connect you with the right provider — your local veterinarian — for follow-up care. Teletriage does not require an existing Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR).

Your local vet is your pet's best friend. If your pet needs diagnosis, treatment, or medication, the veterinary professional will recommend you visit a local veterinarian or emergency clinic. Sidekick Vet helps you get to the right provider faster by assessing urgency and providing a consultation summary you can share with your local vet.

2. Not a Replacement for Emergency Care

SIDEKICK VET IS NOT AN EMERGENCY VETERINARY SERVICE. If your pet is experiencing a life-threatening emergency — including but not limited to seizures, difficulty breathing, heavy bleeding, loss of consciousness, ingestion of a toxic substance, or severe trauma — contact your nearest emergency veterinary clinic immediately. Do not delay seeking emergency care to use our Services.

Our Services are designed for non-emergency veterinary teletriage. While our veterinary professionals can help assess whether your pet's situation requires urgent or emergency care, they cannot provide emergency medical treatment through a teletriage platform.

3. Eligibility

To use our Services, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be legally capable of entering into binding agreements
  • Be the owner or authorized caretaker of any pet for which you seek a consultation
  • Provide accurate and complete information about yourself and your pet
  • Be located in a state where our Services are available at the time of your consultation

4. Teletriage Informed Consent

By using our veterinary teletriage Services, you acknowledge and consent to the following:

  1. Nature of teletriage: Veterinary teletriage consultations are conducted remotely via video and/or text. The veterinary professional will not physically examine your pet and must rely on the information, photos, and video you provide.
  2. Teletriage is not telemedicine: Our service provides symptom assessment, urgency evaluation, and next-step guidance only. We do not provide veterinary diagnoses, treatment plans, or prescriptions. If your pet needs diagnosis or treatment, you will be referred to your local veterinarian.
  3. Limitations: Teletriage consultations have inherent limitations compared to in-person veterinary visits. A veterinary professional cannot make a definitive diagnosis via teletriage, may not detect all conditions, and the quality of the consultation depends on the accuracy of the information you provide and the quality of your internet connection and device.
  4. No guaranteed outcomes: We do not guarantee any specific health outcome. Teletriage involves professional judgment and inherent uncertainty.
  5. Right to refuse: You have the right to withhold or withdraw your consent to teletriage services at any time. You may discontinue a consultation at any time.
  6. In-person care will often be recommended: The consulting veterinary professional may determine that your pet's condition requires an in-person examination and will refer you to a local veterinarian or emergency clinic. This is a core feature of our service, not a limitation.
  7. Recording: Your consultation may be recorded for quality assurance and to generate your visit summary. Pet Vet Connection sends us a copy of all consultation records, which we retain indefinitely. See our Privacy Policy for details.
  8. Service provider: Your consultation will be facilitated through Pet Vet Connection, LLC. Your information will be shared with Pet Vet Connection and the consulting veterinary professional as described in our Privacy Policy.

Because Sidekick Vet provides teletriage only (not telemedicine), the state-specific informed consent requirements that apply to veterinary telemedicine generally do not apply to our service. Teletriage — symptom assessment, urgency evaluation, and referral guidance — is permitted in all 50 states without requiring a pre-existing Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR). No state currently prohibits or restricts veterinary teletriage.

5. User Accounts

To access our Services, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials and not share them with any third party
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

You acknowledge that Pet Vet Connection, LLC or its affiliates may create usernames and/or accounts on your behalf to facilitate access to the teletriage platform, as described in our agreement with Pet Vet Connection.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe your account has been compromised.

6. Veterinary Services and Independent Practitioners

All veterinary consultations are provided by licensed veterinarians engaged through Pet Vet Connection. These veterinarians:

  • Are independently licensed professionals who exercise independent professional judgment in all clinical decisions
  • Are not employees of Sidekick Vet or PupPilot Corp
  • Are engaged through Pet Vet Connection, which is responsible for verifying their licensure and credentials
  • May refer you to an in-person veterinarian or emergency clinic at any time based on their clinical judgment

Sidekick Vet does not practice veterinary medicine and does not direct, control, or supervise the clinical decisions of consulting veterinary professionals. We serve as the consumer-facing platform through which you access Pet Vet Connection's veterinary teletriage services.

7. No Prescriptions or Diagnoses

Sidekick Vet is a teletriage service only. We do not prescribe medications, issue diagnoses, or provide treatment plans. If the consulting veterinary professional determines that your pet may need medication, diagnosis, or treatment, they will recommend that you visit your local veterinarian.

You should inform the consulting veterinary professional of all medications your pet is currently taking so that they can provide the most appropriate urgency assessment and referral guidance.

8. State Availability

Sidekick Vet's teletriage service is available in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. Because we provide teletriage only — not telemedicine, diagnoses, or prescriptions — our service is not subject to the state-by-state telemedicine regulations that restrict veterinary telehealth in many jurisdictions. No state currently prohibits or restricts veterinary teletriage.

The same service is available everywhere: symptom assessment, urgency evaluation, next-step guidance, and referral to your local veterinarian.

9. Payment and Refunds

Payment

Payment is required at the time of service. All payments are processed through Stripe. By providing your payment information, you authorize us to charge the applicable fees for the Services you use.

When you initiate a consultation, you expressly authorize us (or our third-party payment processor, Stripe) to charge you for the applicable fees. You represent and warrant that you have the legal right to use the payment method you provide. We may require additional information to verify your identity before completing your transaction.

Current pricing is available on our Pricing page. We reserve the right to change our prices with reasonable advance notice.

Refunds

All sales are final once a consultation begins. Because our teletriage service is delivered immediately after payment, there is no cancellation period and no refund associated with canceling. You may be eligible for a refund only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Technical failure: If a consultation cannot be completed due to a technical failure on our platform (not your internet connection or device), you are entitled to a full refund.
  • Veterinary professional no-show: If a veterinary professional does not join your scheduled consultation within 15 minutes, you are entitled to a full refund.

Refund requests must be submitted within 2 calendar days of the consultation date. To request a refund, contact us at support@puppilot.co (subject line: [Sidekick Vet]). Approved refunds are issued through Stripe to the original payment method and may take up to 180 days to process, depending on your financial institution.

Refunds are not available for:

  • Consultations that are completed or partially completed
  • Incomplete consultations (once a consultation has started, no refund is available regardless of how it ends)
  • Cancellation of service (payment is accepted immediately and service is delivered promptly — there is no cancellation window)
  • Dissatisfaction with the veterinary professional's assessment or guidance
  • Consultations where the veterinary professional recommends an in-person visit to your local veterinarian (this is a core feature of our service, not a service failure)

10. Your Responsibilities

When using our Services, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information about your pet's symptoms, medical history, and current medications
  • Not use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
  • Not misrepresent your identity, your pet's condition, or your relationship to the pet
  • Not record, screenshot, or redistribute consultation content without the consent of all parties
  • Not attempt to use the Services as a substitute for in-person veterinary diagnosis, treatment, or prescriptions
  • Follow up with in-person veterinary care when recommended by the consulting veterinarian
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction

11. Feedback

We welcome feedback, comments, and suggestions for improvements to the Services ("Feedback"). You can submit Feedback by emailing us at support@puppilot.co (subject line: [Sidekick Vet]).

By submitting Feedback, you grant to Sidekick Vet and PupPilot Corp a non-exclusive, transferable, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, fully-paid, royalty-free license, with the right to sublicense, under any and all intellectual property rights that you own or control, to use, copy, modify, create derivative works based upon, and otherwise exploit the Feedback for any purpose.

12. Intellectual Property

The Sidekick Vet name, logo, website design, content, and all associated trademarks and branding are owned by PupPilot Corp or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not use our trademarks, logos, or branding without our prior written consent.

The telehealth platform technology and tools are the intellectual property of Pet Vet Connection, LLC and/or its platform providers.

You retain ownership of all content you submit through our Services, including photos, videos, and descriptions of your pet's condition. By submitting content, you grant us and Pet Vet Connection a limited, non-exclusive license to use that content for the purpose of providing the Services, including generating consultation records and care plans.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

OUR SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Sidekick Vet disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant that:

  • The Services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
  • A veterinarian will be available at all times
  • The results of any consultation will be accurate, reliable, or complete
  • Any particular diagnosis will be made or treatment will be recommended
  • Any particular health outcome will be achieved for your pet
  • The Services will meet your specific expectations or requirements

Veterinary teletriage has inherent limitations compared to in-person examination. Assessments provided through our Services represent the veterinary professional's best professional judgment based on the information available and should not be considered a substitute for a comprehensive in-person veterinary examination.

14. Limitation of Liability

SIDEKICK VET IS A TELETRIAGE FACILITATION SERVICE ONLY. We connect pet owners with licensed veterinary professionals through Pet Vet Connection. We do not practice veterinary medicine, do not employ or supervise the veterinary professionals, and do not control or direct their clinical judgment. All veterinary services — including symptom assessment, urgency evaluation, and referral guidance — are provided by Pet Vet Connection and its veterinary professionals.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SIDEKICK VET, PUPPILOT CORP, AND THEIR OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, USE, DATA, PET INJURY, PET DEATH, VETERINARY EXPENSES, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICES.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO SIDEKICK VET FOR THE SPECIFIC CONSULTATION GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

The limitations of liability in this section apply regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise), even if Sidekick Vet has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Veterinary Services — Sole Responsibility of Pet Vet Connection

You acknowledge and agree that Sidekick Vet functions solely as a consumer-facing platform that facilitates access to Pet Vet Connection's veterinary teletriage services. Any and all claims related to the veterinary aspects of your consultation — including but not limited to the accuracy of symptom assessments, appropriateness of urgency evaluations, adequacy of referral guidance, or any other clinical aspect of the service — are the sole responsibility of Pet Vet Connection, LLC, which provides the veterinary professionals and controls the clinical delivery of services.

Sidekick Vet bears no liability for any act, omission, negligence, or malpractice of Pet Vet Connection or any veterinary professional providing services through the platform. You agree to direct any clinical or veterinary service-related claims exclusively to Pet Vet Connection.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Sidekick Vet, PupPilot Corp, and their officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:

  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your use of the Services, including any reliance on teletriage guidance without appropriate follow-up with a local veterinarian
  • Your provision of inaccurate or misleading information about your pet's symptoms, medical history, or condition
  • Your failure to seek timely in-person veterinary care when recommended by the consulting veterinary professional or when the circumstances reasonably warranted it
  • Your violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • Your infringement of any third-party rights

For the avoidance of doubt, Sidekick Vet is a facilitation platform only. We do not provide veterinary services and bear no responsibility for the clinical aspects of any consultation. Claims arising from the veterinary services themselves — including any act, omission, or negligence of a veterinary professional — are the sole responsibility of Pet Vet Connection, LLC.

16. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING YOUR RIGHT TO FILE A LAWSUIT IN COURT.

Mandatory Informal Resolution

Before initiating any formal dispute resolution proceeding, you must first attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at support@puppilot.co (subject line: [Sidekick Vet — Dispute]). You must include a written description of the dispute, the specific relief sought, and your contact information. We will attempt to resolve the dispute informally within 60 days. No arbitration or court action may be filed until this informal resolution period has been exhausted.

Binding Arbitration

Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Services, or any aspect of the relationship between you and Sidekick Vet that is not resolved through informal resolution shall be resolved by final and binding arbitration administered by JAMS under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules and Procedures. The arbitration shall be conducted by a single arbitrator selected in accordance with the JAMS rules.

The arbitration shall take place in Nashville, Tennessee. However, for claims under $10,000, the arbitration may be conducted entirely by telephone or video conference at the arbitrator's discretion. You agree that this venue is convenient and you waive any objection to jurisdiction or venue in Nashville, Tennessee.

The arbitrator shall apply Tennessee law consistent with the Federal Arbitration Act. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction. The arbitrator shall not have the power to award damages in excess of the limitation on actual compensatory damages set forth in Section 14 (Limitation of Liability) and may not award punitive damages, injunctive relief, or any other relief not consistent with these Terms.

Class Action Waiver

YOU AND SIDEKICK VET AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims, may not preside over any form of representative or class proceeding, and may not award relief to anyone other than the individual party seeking relief. If this class action waiver is found to be unenforceable, then the entirety of this arbitration provision shall be null and void (but the remaining Terms shall remain in effect), and the dispute shall be resolved in accordance with Section 17 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction).

Small Claims Exception

Notwithstanding the above, either party may bring an individual action in small claims court in Nashville, Tennessee, for disputes within that court's jurisdiction, provided the action remains in small claims court and is brought on an individual basis.

Equitable Relief

Notwithstanding the above, Sidekick Vet may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property rights, confidential information, or goodwill.

Opt-Out

You may opt out of this arbitration provision by sending written notice to support@puppilot.co (subject line: [Sidekick Vet — Arbitration Opt-Out]) within 30 days of your first use of the Services. The notice must include your full name, email address associated with your account, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of arbitration. If you opt out, the Governing Law and Jurisdiction provisions below will apply. Opting out will not affect any other provision of these Terms.

17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. For any disputes not subject to arbitration, you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Nashville, Tennessee.

18. Termination

You may stop using our Services and close your account at any time by contacting us.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Reasons for termination may include, but are not limited to, violation of these Terms, fraudulent or abusive activity, or extended inactivity.

Upon termination, your right to use the Services will cease immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to: Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Dispute Resolution, Governing Law, and Intellectual Property.

You may request your consultation records and pet health data prior to or within 30 days of account termination. After 30 days, your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable veterinary record retention requirements.

19. Consultation Records Access

You have the right to access records of your veterinary teletriage consultations conducted through our platform. To request copies of your consultation records and triage summaries, please contact us at support@puppilot.co (subject line: [Sidekick Vet]). We will provide your records within 30 days of your request.

Pet Vet Connection maintains the primary veterinary record. Sidekick Vet retains its own copy of consultation records indefinitely, so you can request your records at any time regardless of how long ago the consultation took place.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and provide you with notice (such as email notification or a prominent notice on our website) at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Services before the effective date of the changes.

21. General Provisions

  • Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Sidekick Vet regarding the Services.
  • Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
  • Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision.
  • Assignment: You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
  • Force Majeure: We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
